My name is Chris Bostock, I am 35, an ex-professional acrobat turned personal trainer and rehab specialist from North Lincolnshire, England.
I have always been in and around fitness, sports and training since a young age. I come from a family who are all into sports and physical culture so it seemed only natural that I would also find my calling in that area - I just didn’t know in what capacity.
I studied sports at high school while competing on as many teams as I could, going on to pursue it at college and then university.
Along my academic journey I was heavily into skateboarding alongside traditional sports. Travelling and competing around Europe in my later teen years whenever I got the opportunity. This alongside my studies really ignited my interest in how the body moves, analysing techniques and then teaching this to others.
I then got into parkour, freerunning and acrobatics with a group of friends - I had done gymnastics as a child, picked it back up quickly and realised I was improving fast. Acrobatics took over my life for the next 15 years. I became qualified as a gymnastics coach, helping coach kids that would eventually go on to be in the British team, commonwealth and more.
Toward my late 20’s I started doing commercial acrobatics jobs for theatre shows, TV work, Expo’s, festivals, clothing companies and even performing as a backing dancer for Justin Bieber at the Brit Awards - but I knew that performing wouldn’t last forever and I wanted to start passing on my knowledge to others, to help them understand their bodies, to move better, to become fitter and healthier
I got my qualifications to become a personal trainer and from there worked in local gyms before branching out and opening the I.D.move personal training studio from where I now coach.
I now coach clients in person at my gym, do nationwide workshops for businesses helping them foster and develop a healthier work environment as well as training clients remotely via online training.
My methodology is one based off data. I’ve had the unique opportunity to work with the best in the world when it comes to performance, rehab and training which has allowed me to create a system where clients are assessed on their current capabilities and from there have truly individualised training approaches which help address mobility or injury concerns, create strong and healthy bodies all while moving and feeling better.
